A Sad Reality

The conditions that some people have to live in here in this neck-of-the-woods is sad. For the most part many of the people whom we minister to live in less then humane conditions.

Some of these moble homes have no heat during winter season. I've always struggled with the reality that some people exploit others for financial gain.

The adverage rent for these run down places are roughly $1000.00 a month not including all other utilities.

As you can see the person in charge for maintaining these properties does very little to do so. This window has been broken for at least two years now, children play all around these parts; no one has done anything to fix the problem. So upsetting!

As I ponder on the reality that surrounds me here, I can't help to think about the greatness of my God. God would never exploit us. God loves us. Just to think that all this will be left behind. Jesus said that he is going to prepare a place for us in heaven. What a day that will be!

Wow, Hery, that's some pretty rough conditions. We see some fairly rundown tenement situations in downtown Lebanon, some houses that need condemned for heating/water/sanitary issues, but I imagine quite a few people pack into these places if the rent is so high. That's so sad for the kids. We will add housing situations to our prayer list for your church.
